~Attire: Please dress nicely for the recital: casual/professional. My general rule of thumb is: no sneakers/athletic shoes, no jeans, no shorts, no hats, no tee shirts, appropriate length skirts/dresses. 

~Clarinetists, please make sure you have several good and new reeds with you the day of the recital and in lessons up until the recital.

~This should go without saying, but please make sure you have your printed music with you the day of the recital along with your instrument and all necessary accessories.

~After you finish playing your solo or duet, when the audience is clapping for you, please be sure to bow and acknowledge their applause!

~If you are playing a solo with a piano accompanist, after bowing, you should extend your hand towards the accompanist to acknowledge them as well.

~When you first come out on stage, if the audience is clapping for you when you get to the stand, you should bow to acknowledge them clapping for you. If they are not clapping, there is no need to bow prior to playing.

~Be sure to adjust the stand, and if you are sitting the chair, to whatever is comfortable for you.

~If you are playing a solo with a piano accompanist, make sure your stand is situated so that you have good eye contact with your accompanist.

~There will be printed programs at the recitals. I carefully think out the program order and if you are playing both a duet and a solo, I will not have you playing them back to back unless absolutely necessary for some unavoidable reason.

~I will be video recording everyone's performance and will upload them to my You Tube Account which is an unlisted playlist. The link to it is on the first page of the Members Only site. Only those with the direct link have access to these videos. If you do not want your performance uploaded or recorded, please let me know in advance. You may share the link with family members and/or friends who were not able to attend if you would like.
